![]() On a totally different note, I also think this is the best portrayal we got of Dumbledore. (Distracting Lupin, ensuring Time happens as it's supposed to by subtly interacting with their past selves.) But in this one, she thinks on her feet and helps them get out of predicaments without even using magic. In the previous two movies, Hermione gets the trio out of some tough spots because of spells she's memorized or things she's studied ahead of time. She's still extremely intelligent but this time around it extends into actual cleverness. In the 1st film, yes, he makes the big sacrifice on the chessboard but in this one, he instead just shows willingness to sacrifice himself and it comes off much stronger and braver in my opinion.įinally you have Hermione. Ron is still funny and has his moments of slapstick but we also get to see how much his loyalty extends and how far he'll go for his best friends and family. He's scared and sad and doesn't want to be the brave one, but feels such a strong need to because he refuses to lose the little family he has. It's not all black and white and can almost act as a flaw or curse. In this one, Harry's bravery almost comes off as a defense mechanism for how broken and scared he really is.
